Sorry for the mini hiatus peeps – we were in Bali sans babe which took a lot of emotional and mental preparation *sigh*. We are back and feeling refreshed, so let’s get stuck into it – I thought it fitting to do a post on bathers!
Usually I’d hit up Zimmermann as my one stop everything-you-need-in-a-bikini shop. Things were are a little different this year as I rocked the one piece, or as some people call it the ‘mum-kini’, which I don’t quite know how I feel about…
The idea of spending anymore than $140-$180 on a swimsuit bothers me. I’ve done it before – gone into Zimmermann in a desperate rush the day I was scheduled to leave – convinced NOTHING would look good on me, so willing to spend WHATEVER on something that did. The result: a $300 bikini worn a handful of times. Madness!
Pieces from Seafolly and Jets have been my favourites (pictured bottom three rows), hitting around the $140 mark. They have a range of styles in different colours which is exactly what you went when bathers shopping.
What about the high-waisted bikini you might ask? I like the idea of it – images of graceful women from the 1940s enter my mind with their finger waves and red lippy. Like most things though, the reality is a little different. High-waisted anythings are great if you want to accentuate your tiny waist – I found some cool pieces from Sydney label Zulu and Zephyr (top row). My body shape is a little less complicated though, in that it resembles a prepubescent boy with hips, so the one piece it is!
